What are factors?

Factors are numbers that divide evenly into a given number (with no remainder).

Example:

1. What are the factors of 6? 

                               6 [ 1, 2, 3 6] these numbers can divide evenly into 6 without any remainder

What is a composite Number?

Definition: A composite number is a whole number greater than 1 that has more than two factors (it can be divided evenly by numbers other than 1 and itself).

Examples: 

The factors of 4, 6, 8 and 9.

• 4 (factors: 1 2  4
• 6 (factors: 1 2 3 6
• 8 (factors: 1 2 4 8
• 9 (factors: 1, 3 9

2) What are even Numbers?

Definition: An even number is a whole number that is divisible by 2 with no remainder.
Examples:

• Any number ends with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 are called even numbers. 

3) What are Odd Numbers?

Definition: An odd number is a whole number that is not divisible by 2 (it has a remainder of 1 when divided by 2).
Examples:

• Any number ends with 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are called odd numbers.
