Simple Definitions of fact and opinion

  • Fact: A fact is a statement that can be proven to be true or false. You can check it with evidence, like in a book, on a website, or by using your eyes.

    • Key words to remember: Prove, Evidence, True, False.

  • Opinion: An opinion is what someone thinks or feels. It cannot be proven. It is a personal belief or judgment.

    • Key words to remember: Think, Feel, Believe, Maybe.
