1. Present Perfect Tense
- What
is it? We use this tense to talk about something that happened at
an unspecified time in the past or that started in the past and is still
true now.
- How
do we make it? has/have + past participle (the third
form of the verb).
- Example: I have
eaten my lunch. (It happened sometime before now, but we don't
say when).
2. Past Perfect Tense
- What
is it? We use this tense to talk about something that
happened before another action in the past. It's the
"past of the past."
- How
do we make it? had + past participle (the third form
of the verb).
- Example: I had
eaten my lunch before my friend arrived. (Eating happened first,
then my friend arrived).
