The Amazing Water Cycle
Have you ever watched raindrops race down a windowpane

fall back to Earth as precipitation. Precipitation can take many
forms: it could be rain, snow, sleet, or hail, depending on the temperature.
This is the stage we see most often, returning water from the sky to the
ground.
Finally, the water that falls to Earth begins its
journey back to the oceans, lakes, and rivers. This is collection and
it includes runoff. Runoff is the water that flows over the
land surface, either soaking into the ground to become groundwater or flowing
into streams and rivers. Even the water we drink has been part of this endless
cycle, traveling through the atmosphere, land, and sea for billions of years.
