Welcome 👦👧boys and girls to another class. Today, we will be going on an adventure where we will be exploring the topic: The Figures of Speech: Simile and metaphor. Read all given information and do the activities below.

1. Simile

• What is it? A simile is a way to describe something by comparing it to something else.
• The Clue: It always uses the words "like" or "as" to make the comparison.
• The Goal: It makes your description more exciting and helps the reader picture it better.
• Simple Example: The baby’s skin is as soft as silk.
• Another Example: He runs like the wind.

2. Metaphor

• What is it? A metaphor is also a way to describe something by comparing it to something else.
• The Clue: It does NOT use "like" or "as". Instead, it says one thing IS the other thing.
• The Goal: It creates a strong, direct picture in the reader's mind.
• Simple Example: The baby’s skin is silk.
• Another Example: He is the wind when he runs
